'New DRM Receivers at IBC 2011
One of the main highlights of DRM’s presence at International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam this year, is the showcasing of brand new receiver models and solutions.
Nearly a dozen DRM receivers will be on display. Manufacturers MSWAY and Chengdu will present their new receivers for both DRM30 and DRM+. Existing receiver makers Uniwave and Himalaya will be displaying upgraded versions of their DRM radios.
New DRM member Frontier Silicon will showcase a prototype DRM solution. The receivers range from USB devices to stand alone radios to car receivers to monitoring devices. As well as presenting new receiver options, The DRM Consortium will be showcasing the latest market developments from around the world. The DRM Digital Journey at IBC starts today.
Three key Consortium members will host DRM Events today, September 10th 1400 – 1600 Transradio), September 11th 1400 - 1600 (Nautel) and September 12th 1600 – 1800 (Fraunhofer IIS). The events will take participants on a digital journey of discovery, with practical demonstrations on how DRM (either as DRM30 or as DRM+) can get your multi-platform, rich, digital content direct to users.
Key DRM experts from the broadcasting industry will be present during IBC DRM events to answer questions about the full digital, global standard DRM and its implementation. Ruxandra Obreja, DRM Consortium Chairman, says: “At IBC this year we intend to show that DRM is a complete digital radio solution and it is making real progress in important global markets that has already stimulated the receiver manufacturing industry to develop new DRM solutions and products."
